Potentially Good because if there were no flaws with the online play, then Denuvo would virtually not be a factor but still remain a point of contention in general discussions. I might just have to stop playing DBFZ until I can find a way to deal with Denuvo or find the solution to a problem I’m not aware of.Īlmost no one knew it had Denuvo, which is a good and bad thing. However, I have personal gripes against it after the whole Sonic Mania ordeal. Originally posted by Sayori:I didn’t know DBFZ had Denuvo. Otherwise Bandai has some serious explaining to do. Based on track records of previous games, Denuvo is most certainly at fault. This isn't the mid 90s to mid 2000s where internet speed and hardware power was always a factor either, it has to be Bandai or Denuvo. There is no reason why lag and intermittent delays would be so common and the quality of matches be so haphazard unless Bandai is seriously dropping the ball. Unfortunately the way it seems to be, until we have official confirmation, the best bet is that Denuvo's online servers that are checking to see if your copy is legitimate and not tampered with are affecting gameplay performance. On some games, it is minimal but noticeable, on others it directly affects performance until you close the game. But the biggest mystery is how specifically does Denuvo affect the game? There is no clear indication except expectations based off of other games that have had it. On one hand, you have Bandai's servers where the matches are being played off of, and then you have your home connection. What makes this especially confounding is that it's not clear what the source of the inconsistent delay is. I'm morbidly fascinated by the hour-long window in the early morning hour (EST/CST) where every match you play is almost always guaranteed to be in slo-mo no matter how good the connection to your opponenet that you have and vice-versa. In a game where you have to pull off split-second blocks and reactions, this is laughable. Every other match I've played has been consistently "playable" but there was always a delay that affected performance - and this includes the dozens of other people in the green as well. I can count the amount of matches on one hand that were as fast and seamless as fighting CPUs and it didn't have to do with the signal strength of the opponent (or mine), granted the opponents I've faced were in the green (connection-wise). The performance in this game is all over the place.
